You whipped up your eggs, tofu scramble — whatever. You even took 20 seconds to heat up a tortilla in your "My coffee is still brewing" morning grog. Now, you may want to throw everything in the shell and call it good.
Remember, if you do this, you are a quitter. And, you have goofed.
The coffee still isn't ready. So take the time to finish the last crucial step you likely overlooked while still thinking about how (or why) you lived to see another day.
Put it back in the pan, bro. Wrap that burrito and slap it in the skillet for some pan-seared burrito greatness. This is essentially what Taco Bell does for their grilled burritos and quesadillas. Just do it with your killer breakfast at home.
You want a tasty burrito with everything toasty inside and outside? Bam. You want a flaky tortilla that will take you to the other side? Done. Take the extra minute and you will WIN.
Here's how:
1. Place the burrito folded side down first on medium-low heat. Slow and steady.
2. Pat it all with a spatula to lock in the shape.
3. Then flip for that sexy pan-seared top.
4. Pat with a spatula and then tong it over to a plate.
Note: Don't be a goomba and burn your burrito. Watch it. Smell for it. It's gonna be hot in the pan, so use common sense. Don't burn your hands. Duh.
Pandemonium: this is what I watched/listened to while killing it in the kitchen this morning. KEXP is my favorite. Blast time:
