about VFTL — urban dwellers sipping from the cup of sweet nostalgia and folking things up

We may live in the thick of it all but our hearts are with the trees — outside the city limits and under the stars.

From 9 to 5, we look forward. Anticipating and building the gizmos that connect people with the tools to live and work smarter.

But this blog isn't about the future. It's about the past. Because a sweet cup of reinterpreted nostalgia feeds the soul more than expediency ever could.

View from the Lodge is a medley of antiquated experiences and processes put through a blender and made into something totally different and totally new.

snuggled happily in the flyover states

From our tiny lodge, we count more vinyl than square footage and hunt for adventures — along with making our own. Casio keyboard riffs. The best way to can and pickle. exactly where bolo ties in the midwest can be found. They've been captured on film, our hard drives and in our notebooks — until now.

we catalogue and share:

  • Trials in travel
  • Antiquing
  • Art
  • Flexitarian cooking
  • Hops sampling
  • Amps moving air
  • Rolls on rolls of film
